Load testing of Ships Cranes, Accommodation Ladders and Gangways

ARA Marine New Zealand provides essential load testing for ships’ cranes, accommodation ladders, and gangways. This service is critical for maritime safety, ensuring that these vital components of a vessel are functioning correctly and safely.

We offer 5-year load testing, which is performed in accordance with IMO & Flag state requirements in presence of the relevant IACS members.

We are also able to test cranes up to 65 Tons using water weights and test gangways, accommodation ladders and gangways up to 5.2 T using sausage water weights.

Lifesaving appliances

ARA Marine New Zealand provides a comprehensive range of lifesaving appliances and related services, ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards and regulations.

Breathing air systems

ARA Marine provide breathing air sample analysis, hydrostatic testing, and certification, as well as hire breathing apparatus and cylinders.

Servicing is completed to the current standards and regulations as governed by national authority safety regulations, flag state, classification society or OEM requirements. ARA Marine is also an approved hyperbaric repairer with the Australian Department of Defence.

As with fire appliances, there are certain elements which cannot be completed in-situ due to the level and sensitivity of test equipment required. In many of these cases, recertification can be carried out by our on-site team. If equipment must be sent to one of our facilities for service or repair, ARA Marine can provide substitute equipment for short or long-term hire to cover the site/vessel’s safety responsibilities.

ARA Marine aims to deliver the highest quality breathing apparatus products and services available, exceeding the demands of the most safety conscious customer.
